How do you see yourself in retirement?

I've heard: 'buy a house on golf course and play everyday'

Me: 'surf during the summer months, snowboard during winter'

But then again I'm not sure if I'm still be able to do that....assuming at 67~70 years old coz I see myself workaholic through all these years.

I don't.

Going by the family history we either die working or eventually go senile and think we're still working.:p

I see myself retiring around 60. I should have (or plan on) having more than enough savings to do so. I'll travel as much as I can and sit on my ass drinking beer and watching football. Maybe I'll have another hobby besides speakers/audio by then...maybe not, but I'll do that too.

Calculated my retirement date the other day, 8-15-19 for 59.5 Seems pretty far away & I'm already old :(

I hope to retire and get hot deals on Attends, am counting on Rossman to be alive & posting to help with that ;)

Seriously though, I plan on buying a lot or an acre or two and building a retirement house, fairly small & seriously energy efficient, I'll be on Yahoo Personals still looking at great grannies, wondering if their pics have been airbrushed & what kind of health insurance they have.

Still doing software development, just with shorter hours and in whatever areas interest me. Maybe join a couple of modding projects, or interesting open source projects, or....?

I will hopefully be gone from work by the end of this September or December. I?m planning on redoing my Kelmark kit car, fixing up the house a little and taking a couple of cruses (Alaska & the Mediterranean). After that we will probably visit family & friends in Kentucky & Michigan. We also plan on traveling around the country from time to time.

No golf for me but I might get a part time job at Lowe?s or Home Depot for the discounts. I will probably do some type of community or church voluntary work as well.

That's a good idea.....

in that case, I want a part-time job at REI, Academy Sports, or Dick's Sports.

If all goes well, I'll be fully retired at 45. I'll probably set up an exclusive gun range/club just for fun.

I plan to be exceptionally poor. I am terrible with money. Maybe I'll be a Wal-Mart greeter.
