how do you scan your hard drive in win2000 pro

i use win2k pro and when ever i try to scan the hard drive i would have to reboot to scan it and i did not see and log to see if i had any errors, could you help me thanks.😕
 
My Computer -> right click on the drive -> Properties -> Tools tab -> check for errors
that is only way i was able to find it...
hope that was what u were looking for
