do you say it NI-Kon
or do you say NII-kon

i always say it NI Kon, because there is no letter a.e.i.o.u behind the I. and there is no E behine the K

but my friends say nikon is japanese company, so they say NIIKON as that is how nikon pronunaciate in japanese.
so which bring to the question, NI kon, or NIIKon?

English speaking world...Nye-kon

The people who work, run, own the company...Knee-kon (a japanesse friend reminds me of this when we talk cameras)

Having spent 3 years in Japan, the "i" is pronounce as and "e" - nee' kon (knee-con). The same camera I bought in Japan was labeled Nikkon instead of Nikon.

It's a Japanese company and I speak Japanese. It is pronounced Knee-Kon like others have said. Nye-Kon is the way Americans pronounce it.
