Anyway, we do agree that there are no girls on the Internet, but sometimes we have to simplify because "dudes masquerading as chicks online" is often a mouth-full. That's what we mean any time we reference an online "female."

That could be a question or a statement. I'm not sure it would be correct to say that is a properly worded question though. Who cares, it's the internet. 😀
