How do you save a realplayer file?

I need to save a realplayer file from a web site. How do I do it? When I right click and select save target as.. I am only downloading a small file which doesn't really contain any vidoe. What should I do?

If it's streaming you can't really, unless you get some sort of ripper, I've heard of 'em just don't know where to download it. You can check at download.com though, if it's non-streaming then you should be able to download it like a normal file.

Open up the small file with notepad or something similar and see if there is a different link in there and save THAT file. It has worked for me before...but not always 😉

That will work for HTTP streaming but if the file is being streamed from a RealSystem server using RSTP you need a program called Streambox VCR (search google for it). Incidentaly the equivalent prog for WindowsMedia is ASFRecorder
