How do you repair micro coaxial cable?

Had a bit of a mishap this weekend when using a buffer on my car. Accidentally got my Sirius satellite antenna wire caught in it and the wire was ripped in two at the base of the antenna magnet. Appears to be some sort of shielded micro coaxial. I stripped both ends and twisted the single wire together followed by heat shrinking over it. Still getting "ANT ERROR" when I turn on my receiver.

Is there a way to fix this so that it works? I don't have a lot of experience with this type of cable so not sure how to get it working again. Apparently there's more to it than just twisting the single wire together as you would with speaker wire or something.

Not easily done....the smaller the stuff the harder it is (duh?). Even with the right tools I'm not a fan of it.
