How do you stop Windows from showing that bootup screen every time you start Windows 98?

Install TweakUI. It's a control panel, search it up on the search engine of your choice.

Disable "Splash Screen" on startup.

It's just a registry hack that TweakUI does for you...

hmm.......well, the file is c:\logo.sys

you can take a bitmap (320x400) and remane it to logo.sys and replace your startup screen. Right now I have once called "shattered windows95"...it is a total parody of the original startup screen. I can give it to you if you want.

you can also move logo.sys and see what happens. Its not a crucial file, so you can always move it back with a startup disk.

Using a text editor, open the file 'msdos.sys' in your root directory, and in the section [OPTIONS] change Logo=1 to Logo=0. Save, exit. It's a read-only file so you'll need to change its attribute to allow the edit and then change it back when your done.
