How do you remove old tile caulk around the bath tub

JEDI

Lifer
There's mildew on the caulk.

The caulk has lost it's elasticity. when i use pliers, i'm only ripping out the little section that the needlenose has a grip on. It's going to take a LONG time to remove the caulk by that method.

So what's the easiest way?

Thx

use a straight blade razor scraper. If the old caulking is silicone, it will be even harder to remove, and honestly nothing will stick to it unless you get it all off.

I believe that HD sells a caulk remover that turns it into a goo what you wipe away, or you use a utility knife/razor and pull it out. I'd do it with the utility knife, personally. Who knows what the remover will do the other surfaces.

i tried the blade. it just makes a line in the caulk. it doesnt make it any easier to remove
