how do you remove GPU Heatsink?

I'm thinking about getting a Zalman fanless heatpipe cooler, but i have no idea how to remove the gpu heatsink... is there a trick to this???

either put in the static bag... and stick it in the freezer for a bit then pop it off...

or

just slide a butterknife gently between the gpu and the heatsink and pry it off... :)

I agree with the butter knife trick, i have used it before and it worked,
however i am not to sure about the freezer thing... I have heard about it, but it makes little difference (I think).

Another good idea if you are using the knife trick, is to put a credit card inbetween the GPU and the actual card (if it can fit),
just to make sure when you TURN the knife it does not damage the card...

Imortant though, you DO NOT wedge it off, you turn the butter knife as if it was a screw driver. Clockwise, Anti-clockwise ect.

I have done this before ;)

If you freeze it, be sure that's it is sealed, I"d use a couple plastic bags with an antistatic bag inside.

i suggest using a hammer and chisel. it will definitely remove that heatsink. :p
