How do you remove a workgroup on XP Pro?

I created a workgroup on two computers. On one computer the firewall is telling me that it keeps blocking internet access requests from the other computer. I do not want this to ever happen, so how do I delete a workgroup entire?

Because it's working as intended. I don't want the other computer connecting to mine period. Both get a connection through the router, so I want the workgroup gone.

Umm there are only 2 choices you have. Being in a workgroup or being in a domain. As long as that computer is connected to your network it can see your shares. What you can do is make 2 networks on different subnets that don't connect to each other and that would resolve your problem.

In Windows, you are either in a Workgroup or you are in a Domain. You have no other choices.

A "Workgroup" in Windows is only a convenient organization tool. Whether someone is in your Workgroup or in a different Workgroup means NOTHING. The only thing stopping others from accessing your computer are Sharing and Security restrictions.

If you change your XP Professional to "non-Simple-Filesharing" mode, you'll have complete access control on your PC. Taking advantage of User Accounts, Passwords, and Sharing/Security Permissions, you can choose who can access data on your PC.
