I just want to upgrade my old Compaq 5020. There are these plastic latches but I dont know how to get them off. There seems to be some sort of lever but theres one of those cylinderical thingies on the motherboard in the way of the lever. Acording to CPU-Z my motherboard is a Compaq 04C4H. It's i440LX chipset. Can anyone tell how how to get the processor out of there?

There are two plastic latches at the top of the processor at each end. Push them inwards, and lift the processor vertically up out of the two retention brackets.

FYI, in case you didn't know already:

People often sell 333 MHz P2 and Celerons for $10-15 in FS/FT forum here. Actually your LX might support slot 1 Celerons up to 466, my old Abit LX-6 did after a BIOS update. Your LX should also support 370-pin 400-466 PPGA celeron chips using a slocket / slotket adapter. Celerons at these speeds (333 -466) are as good as the P2's since both at 66 MHz bus and the celeron cache is smaller but runs twice as fast.
