How do you record video from your iPhone?

Yosemite and iOS 8 were supposed to have a feature where you could record video from the phone. How does that work?

Did you have the iPhone connected via usb?

Indeed. I can use the iPhone as an audio source but not video.

Works with my iPhone 6 Plus. Haven't tried my iPad mini 2 (retina) or an older device.
