How do you read a DMV scoring sheet?

I failed mine today. I was at a 4 way intersection and stopped at the stop sign. There was a corvette that was coming on the other road and was beginning to slow down, so I went (since he had to stop for the stop sign anyways). Needless to say, the corvette continued going through the intersection which freaked out the DMV instructor and made me fail.

Now, this was near the end of the driving test, so I would like to know how to read my score sheet (to see how many points I lost w/o the DQ).

Does anyone know what the circled bolded #'s mean, the slashes through the 0's, etc.?

No idea. I passed with no marks at all. Your instructor sounds too serious though. If the guy should have stopped, it's really not your fault.

edit: god damn these post time hijinks!

yes - I feel like he didn't even realize that there was a stop sign on the corvette's road. I'm looking at the intersection on google maps right now, and there is a clear STOP on the road on all 4 sides of the intersection

this is the intersection - you can take a look at street view

2 more weeks... ugh

That blows hard. It's no surprise Corvette drivers are douchebags. That's one reason I don't want to own a corvette...not a recent one anyway.

yay for stereotypes
😕

If that's the only "mistake" I'd complain, but you should have waited for the Corvette to stop before you went.

I would be pissed off, but when I was driving, I learned to assume that the other guy may run the stop light and so I always would cautiously cross streets.

Yea, that's called defensive driving.

But I always heard that the best defense is a great offense.

Don't worry OP I failed my test twice before passing and not being able to drive for another 4 weeks has had no effect on my life. Also, in terms of driving ability, I blow my Asian girlfriend, who passed on the first attempt, out of the water. Except maybe in parallel parking, which is why I failed twice.

I do that when driving regularly, but for the driving test, you program yourself to drive to the book. Otherwise, if your tester is an asswipe, they'll start bitching about why aren't you going, then start scratching on his/her page.

I failed my first one, passed my second with flying colors. Now I have to do it again in a year to get my full license.

That's a man, man!

Even though there was a four-way stop sign, you SHOULD have waited.

While in real-life, what you did is probably fine, you always drive extra cautiously when you have a DMV examiner in the seat next to you.

Just because you have the legal right-of-way doesn't mean the other person is going to honor that...and a LOT of accidents are caused in exactly the same situation.

You SHOULD have waited for the other vehicle to stop, and if the examiner said anything, just tell them that you've seen several people slow down then run the stop sign, and you wanted to be sure the corvette was going to stop before proceding.
