How do you react when you hear someone stutter?

I stutter sometimes when I'm flustered.
But I have met people with severe stuttering problems and I just let them say what they are going to say. They just take a bit longer, no big deal.

I piss my pants with laughter then proceed to tell the person that the very fact that they are speaking to me is offending me deeply and that if I had a knife, I would cut their defective tongue out in a second. :D

(j/k) I actually can't remember the last time I spoke to someone with a stutter, and I'm a very polite tolerate person so I'd certainly make no mention of it. :)

Well, it would catch my attention, and I might listen a little more carefully if I needed to in order to understand, but ourwardly I wouldn't really have a reaction.

I have an occasional stutter, it doesn't really hinder communication(it is very light) although when I was younger I stuttered alot more. Because of this I'm tolerant of studders because I can relate to how hard it can be

I stutter about once a week or so, but not just one instance its usually all day long in spurts.

People usually tell me to slow down and speak clearly, which is pretty annoying because I am not trying to stutter.

I try to relax and let him\her finish what they are saying. One of my co-worker stutters and at first I was finishing his sentences which is very rude. Now I just listen to what he is saying.

With compassion and patience.

If I can, I try to make them feel more at ease. I sort of try to project a warm, gentle vibe through body language, tone of voice, etc.

Generally speaking, these techniques work well for me. I've worked with special needs children and also with animals as a veterinary assistant, and it is very rewarding to be able to connect with and help those who are suffering.

I have a very light stutter problem. More severe as a kid. I can hide my problem and no one even notice my occational stutter.
Let them talk and don't try to help. I know how frustrating it can be to stutter.

LOL, I knew that was going to sound all wrong!

Honestly, I don't think that stuttering is such a big deal. What I do when a person stutters is pretty much what I do with everyone I come across... I'm generally very friendly (ask yakko). ;)

I make fun of them until I've done enough damage that they run away from me. I'm a bad person.

Reminds me of a joke:
How can you tell if a woman used a vibrator when she was pregnant?
Her kids stutter.
Aahahahahahaha, ok maybe it's not that funny. :p
