I would like to install the 10.5.7 update but I do not know how to re-install kexts if I run into problems. I know for a fact my ALC883 audio will not work after the update. Would someone be kind enough to explain it to me or is their a tutorial some where I could read.

Thanks Guys

When I use that program it says "we failed to login as root, check your password". I do not use a password so for the password I just hit enter.

Use the password you setup when you installed Leopard.

I did not use a password when I installed Leopard, I left it blank. Maybe the program won't work if you do not use a password on your system.

BTW Kaido I want to Thank You for the help. You guys on this forum are really nice! My system works fine without the update, I still would like to learn the correct way of doing things. Worst case scenario, I will wait for your next guide, then run down to Fry's and pick up the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P you recommended and use a password on my next install.

You can also use osx86 tools to install Kexts, I used it to install some new ones after 10.5.7 was having issues
