I have a digital camcorder. Do I have to put it in the camcorder first, then record it on vhs?

or can I just put it straight from the comp to vhs?

Most importantly, how can I do this? How do i put it into vhs?

your 9500 has an s-video out on it, plug that into your vcr and go. if you want sound you will have to hook up your soundcard to the vcr as well.

which one?

Sorry I don't think a tv tuner does a trick; it doesn't have a video output, does it? That's what you'll need to do the job. A card with video out, either Svideo (if your vcr has svideo-in, or just the standard rca (yellow). I'm not really familiar with the kinds of hardware, but one thing I know that has this is the ATI all in wonder cards as well as any card that has VIVO (video in, video out).

If you're trying to record movies captured with your digital camcorder, can't you just connect your camcorder's S-video output to your VCR and record?

If you're trying to record movies on your PC, just connect your video card to the VCR and record.

If your VCR doesn't accept S-video, just composite (yellow connector), then buy an s-vid to composite adapter from Radio Shack or an online store. S-vid to composite connectors are included with most video cards, so NewEgg or Allstarshop should carry them.

for the video part

you'll need an S-Video - Componet (YELLOW) Video - one end to the video card and other to the vcr example

audio part

line out from the computer to the vcr audio

1/8th - Stereo (red / white) Example

I'm not sure, but if you simply use the TV-out on your video card and output to vcr, won't it just display and record your whole computer screen including windows and everything? Unless you're playing the video in full screen, but depending on what format and what program, that might not be possible or ideal.

prolly.

prolly best to output to the tv and then record from the vcr.

well you use a program that will let you run fullsreen and codecs for whatever file formats you have. not sure what you are getting at by "ideal" but that is as good as you are going to get for transfering video from a computer to a vcr.
