How do you put a password on something that has been written using microsoft word? (like a letter that you don't want anyone to read) because I wanted to write a letter that I could leave on my computer that requires a password to get into. anyone know how to do this?

If you're using Word '97, could be the same for 2K, tools>options>save tab, there is an option for passwords to open and modify at the bottom of that window.

You can do it through your operating system also if you run NT, 2000 or I believe Linux. If you run one of these let us know. If you don't then Commish's suggestion should work. Yeah, just checked. At the very bottom of the save tab in office 2000 there are password options.
