How do you put delivery confirmation on an email sent through outlook express?

I'm having a dispute with someone over an item sold and I need to know that he's actually getting the emails I'm sending him. Is there any way to do that through OE?

when composing a message, go to tools, then request read receipt. not quite the same as a delivery receipt, but that's as close as you can come, afaik.

Yeah but that only works if the user on the other end has "always send a receipt" enabled

Do they have to send a reciept or is it automatic? I'm assuming the person will get the email and then either delete it or just not respond to me.

EDIT: Baff... is that enabled by default?

they can set it to auto send, never send, or confirmation. i think the latter is default.

yeah it asks you if you would like to accept this and send back the originator a note saying that you read it.

if you click no you dont get diddly squat back and you wont know if he read it or not.
