All these damn threads of how do you pronounce something always have me repeating the word over and over again out loud until i eventually say all the choices. I say creek though.

creek != crick

ee != "i"

How would you ever get "crick" from "creek"?

Do you call weeks "wiks"? Are your feet "fit"? :confused:

When I was a kid I called it a crick for some reason, but once I got to maybe junior high, I started saying creek.

I used to play down in the woods by the creek all the time when I was a kid. Built forts and whatnot. Fun memories :)

When I'm around someone who would make fun of me: creek.
When I'm around people I grew up with, sometimes crick, sometimes creek. :eek:

I've got a cousin in Juneau who says "terlit" for toilet. We make fun of her.

Being from the North East, I would pronounce it creek, long eee. When I lived in Missouri, I had to learn to speak so they could understand me. Pronouncing R's and all that... and I picked up Crick as my creek and I like it! I have been back in the North East for 20 years and still call it crick!

Not in my town they don't. My hometown has "Creek" in it and I've never heard anyone with more than 7 teeth call it crick.
