How do you pronounce "comparison"?

I'm from Switzerland so bear with me. I always thought it was pronounced like the second "ti" in competition, so that would be "compartion" in ndee-talk. Now my girlfriend tells me that's wrong and you pronounce it like "comparison"(like prison) BUT I'm 100% sure I also heard "compartion" in the US. Is there anyone that also says "compartion" or am I just dead wrong? :)

No one says "compartion". English just has too many contadictory rules that cause confution. I mean... confusion.

I could kinda see how that would work except the i is before the s, not after it. If it were spelled comparsion, your way would make more sense.
