As long as you don't say his name three times in a row, he won't appear...:D

And as to the OP, I have heard a few folks refer to his name as chEN-nee....

Well I guess there are many ways, but I feel it's important to correctly observe a noteable pause between the "@ss" and "hole," just to denote profound sincerity.

Why make fun of the name Richard, or Dick, or even the last name of Cheney? The name he got somewhat at random has nothing to do with the fact that the individual in question is regarded as rather negatively by many on this forum---as for me--the proper words to express my contempt for that sad and sorry human being elude me---and profanity does not even begin to scratch the surface.

But on the bright side---Cheney does provide some moments of comic relief---when he says Rummy is the greatest Sec of Defense ever---after GWB belatedly fired Rummy.----he might even be a barrel of laughs if you just don't believe anything he says.

It's P&N because Cheney is a politician. It's not locked because many of us are oddly curious about a clearly cynical, self-interested man who has helped reduce our great country to much less than what it was and still could be.

If you understood the science of body language, tone of voice, and other characteristics that can be used to 'read' a person (like the FBI uses... they are called microexpressions) you would realize that one sick old man is the VP of our country.

I think RedDawn is correct-that's the way I've always heard it pronounced on TV.

The Cheney family (different people) were the prominent bluebloods of a local city. It's pronounced CHAney there. I like the difference-I hate to think of Evil Dick while I'm trying to enjoy a show or concert at Cheney Hall.
