How do you pronounce "ACCEPT"

I hate it when people pronounce it ASSEPT. It's not pronounced that way. Otherwise you wouldn't have a freaking double C to begin with.

This isn't even like the "roof" question I asked last time where there's multiple pronounciations. There's only 1, and yet people pronounce this one incorrectly all the time. Same goes for "accelerate." I work with glues at work and we use accelerator to speed it up and it always irks me to hear "asselerator."

I don't mind different "roof" pronunciations, nor have I ever heard someone pronounce "acc" like "ass."

Assept?

Honestly, the only people I can think of who I've heard say it that way are children.

My middle school English teacher pronounced "couch" like "cooch". She also got mad if we said "Uranus" normally and not "ooranoos".
