How do you personally get and stay organized?

I can manage for about two days before chaos theory takes over...for those of you who are organized, what do you do?

hahaa i suffer from the same affliction. My desk will stay organized for a few hours after I clean it as junk will start to pile up everywhere. I tried getting a pda but I never use that damn thing anyway.

I ask ATOT to organize my life! 😛

i started using outlook, onenote, and kept alot of text notes on the desktop. keeping a running todo list is good too.

i forget alot of stuff Im suppose to do, and more importantly i get too lazy and avoid doing stuff Im suppose to do.

As in terms of organizing my notes and papers, I blow at it. But in terms of organizing tasks (such as HW and projects) I'm usually pretty good about it, I tend to remember them and remind myself from time to time what I have to do. If you can't keep them in your head I'd just get a calendar to write down things that you need to do (might be a good execuse to get a PDA🙂)

wtf IS OneNote, anyway? It's installed, but I've never used it.

I have a ghetto planner that has a large space for each day for me to write in. Try to get one that already has all the months and days of the months written in it. Carry it around in your backpack/briefcase/whatever, and when you get an assignment or something to do, write it down in there. Make sure you look a couple weeks ahead every once in a while so you can start setting goals about how you need to get things done.

I dug up my old Dell Axim X5 PDA and started using the Calendar and Contact functions. They're mega-useful! Part of my problem before was that I had too many pieces of paper with too much stuff written down, and I'd just write stuff down and forget about it rather than actually committing internally to do it. Tapping the letters in on the stupid little screen forces me to think about what I'm writing and whether I'm actually going to do it or not, because I have to put in a time for the task (like from 11:00am - 11:30am). I think the base thing is that you just have to decide that you're going to put playing aside and do your work first, then just DO it. You don't really need to be organized, but it really helps, I think. It's the staying organized part that's difficult 😉

think of it as sticky notes on your computer. but instead of cluttering uo the desktop its in one program.

i use it for brainstorming and keeping track of random junk. helps alot when researching for a paper.

3M has Post It Lite for PC. Search for it on google... its free and does not hog any resources at all.

I'm anal when it comes to cleanliness so my desk is usuall always clean unless im really busy. As far as organizers go, i can never keep those up. Most of the time I just remember what I have to be doing. Anything else I just put into a desktop note that shows up through samurize.

I have a pda that syncs up with my outlook and reminds me of everything.

and I don't bother keeping anything clean.
