Question How do you personally determine what you are going to do with a previously used CPU

I'm curious when you buy yourself a new Board/CPU or CPU, how do you determine what you're going to do with the previous CPU?
For example: Upgrade another computer in your home, Upgrade a friend/family member's (that don't live with you, either giving it to them, or selling it to them) or sell it (Ebay, etc)
