How do you permanently change USERNAME variable?

I changed the name of the computer and of the administrator profile to my name, but there seems to be problems with the My Documents folder and certain instances of the old computer owner's name showing up. I think this might be the USERNAME variable. In the CMD.exe I type set and the USERNAME is still set to the old users name. How do I permanently change this so that there is no instance of the old user's name left on my computer?

You can log in as an admin (or another admin priv account) then copy all the files from C:\Documents and Settings\bad username folder to the C:\Documents and Settings\Default User folder. (always make a copy of Default User folder beforehand)

Create a new username and when you log into it, most of the settings from the \bad username will be used to create the new username, some settings may not follow though.

Once your all set, you can delete the Default user folder and rename the 'copy of default user' back to default user, and delete the \bad username folder
