I'm shipping off a cpu tomorrow and I'm pretty sure it will get there safely but I'm just really nervous about it... Have any of you ever sent a cpu out? How did you pack it?

I usually keep the little plastic containers that they come with when I buy them. Then I just stuff a bunch of packing peanuts, bubble wrap, or anything else I have to pad it a little.

Do you have the original packaging? I would put in a plastic box/case (just a little bigger than the cpu itself) that in turn is wrapped in bubble wrap so the pins don't get bent myself

Try to put it in the original packaging if possible. It it's an Athlon put it in the little plastic clamshell case and tape some foam around it so it's in a ball, then put more packing around it.

Put it back in its original case, tape it up so nothing opens, and pack foam packing peanuts all around it.

Look at all our posts. All exactly the same. We are sure are an intelligent bunch. Except for the wisecracker who was funny and not at the same time. Sort of like my post and all Mike Myer movies but I digress
