How do you organize your pictures?

After buying a digital camera, I'm finding myself with a lot of pictures on my HD without being organized. I really can't think of a good scheme to go about it. Do you all use or recommend any software out there? What about the new Adobe photoshop album that'll be released in February, think it'll be any good? Suggestions are welcomed

Same... but I encounter problems when I have pictures from a trip that span multiple days...

XP saves them all for me wherever I want them to go.

It downloads them all from my camera, asks the directory name I want, then it just names them all like Directory001.jpg , Directoy002.jpg, etc, etc.

I find it very useful.

i do them by date or something similar. like if i went on a trip i make a folder for teh trip. and actually ive named about 90% of the individual pics also.

I use Thumbs Plus to view and organize all my pics. its a great program
