How do you organize stuff of different origin(text, web pages, pics, video, sound, other files)-if they belong together?

In case it is not clear:

Say I like topic A. I have several web pages stored in my IE about it(actually Net Snippet), ongoing news and email discussions, .pdf manual, some .exe, some .jpg and so on. It is a mess on my side - because it is not in one place. How do you deal with it?

Eh, I group things in directories by file type. Images, text, video, etc. Group by "relation?" I see no point; every file should have a fairly obvious name, so it's not really hard for me to find anything I might have in a file.

i agree...you have the opportunity to name your files and folder appropriately so that file management should be very simple when looking at what you have and knowing exactly where to go...sometimes, what i have seen is that people get a little lazy and do not manage their files in an appropriate manner

Thanks
I wanted to be sure that I haven't been missing anything in this area.
Currently being busy creating lots of subfolders with meaningful names...

C:\Documents and Settings\notfred\My Documents\My Pictures
C:\Documents and Settings\notfred\My Documents\My Music

oh come on... %HOMEPATH%\Music isn't that much harder ;)

(why do they use %foo% instead of $foo anyway? that alone doubles the amount of work required.)
