How do you open the newegg Evercase?

I can't figure out how to get into the damn thing.

I've pushed and pulled those rubber/metal tabs on the side panel at the back and it doesn't do anything. If I push/pull them any harder, something is going to bend or break.

I can't tell if the front panel is supposed to come off. One bottom corner seems to pull away a little, but I can't tell if it is just going to snap open or break off.

I see no instructions on the Evercase site (I dl'ed the User's Guide and Catalog).

hey mr. diggler,

i'd assume that u've made sure there's no screws or anything holding the case on from the back right? i'm assuming ur dealing with this case. i've dealt with similar cases to this one... and if i remember correctly, u just have to push on the two tabs on the back and slide it at the same time. you may have to jiggle it while sliding it, as a new case may be tighter than the case i was dealing with.

good luck!

Yep, that's the exact case (cept it is black.)

Yep, screws have been removed from the back.

Which way do I slide it? I tried pushing the two tabs in (toward the other side of the case) and jiggling it and beating on it and banging on it...doesn't budge. Does it rotate out or slide back or...?

Thanks.

the side of the case should slide towards the back. i believe the tabs should just be pushed. i guess if u want a direction, that would be to the inside of the case. make sure ur pressing on both of the tabs together, and just try to slide the whole side towards the back while ur pressing.

hopefully this helps.

Excellent, finally got it open. It was definitely stuck because now it comes off and on easy. Really had to slam it hard to get it the first time though...we were getting ready to put a plunger on the side in order to get more leverage. :)

Thanks, lordbob99, I would have not known which way to start forcing it without your help.

Yes, the two tabs are lifted, and it slides off the back direction...thankfully you got it off. It took me a while too.

And the front, just take it off carefully. If you do so carefully, it comes off. The metal 3.5" drive place holders took me a while to remove also :( Maybe I'm just s2pid... And the PCI card holding thing also took me a while...

Yeah, the 3.5" metal bay covers took me awhile too...the problem is that you can't tork it too much or the edge wants to push the plastic case edge out too far (possibly breaking it.)

The plastic bay covers were pretty hard to get off too...they are on there really tight.

The PCI card bar clip thing was excellent except I had one of those PCI cards that doesn't line up well ... if it doesn't close correctly on one, it won't close at all. I had to get medieval on the card with a pair of pliers to bend it enough.

All in all though it is a pretty nice case. I wish I had bought the $40 version without the PSU, but it wasn't available when I ordered...wasted $20. The only glaring problem is the tiny reset switch.
