How do YOU move 30 GIGS ? (WindowsXp)

I am reformatting, one of my partitions, I just want to move it to another drive and then move it back when Im done reformatting. Is there any risk in just using windows cut and paste to move that many files at once (30 gigs) ?

I know there is programs like Norton Ghost and stuff, Ive looks at the trials. Too much complication just for moving stuff around it seems to me.

Wow, there must be something wrong here, I tried to start copying the files, and now Windows in basically frozen, the files are still going and the stuff within the web browser is still active (thats how im typing this right now) however, I cannot click anything on the START BAR or start button or open any new explorer windows. Both my drives that I am copying between are in DMA mode, I checked and both are on their own IDE channel.

This sucks.

the copying thread is probably hogging the main explorer task (not the web page rendering one, tho...)
