I boil 1/2 gallons of water and throw two Lipton large sized tea bags into the pot and let them boil for 2.5 minutes. Then add 1/3 cup of sugar. I then pour the hot goodness into a 1.5 gallon jug with a buttload of ice. After the Ice melts I have about 1 Gallon of the now cool goodness.

So how do you make your tea?

I have an iced tea maker that does it for me. I just put in 3 quarts water, then 3 family-size teabags (good for a quart each) and then fill the pitcher with ice. Push a button, and 10 minutes later I have a full pitcher. I like my tea unsweetened so I skip on the sugar.

Take water pitcher out of fridge.
Pour water into mug.
Stick mug into microwave on High for 3 minutes.
Insert tea of choice into hot water.
Add a packet of sugar or honey if desired.
Allow for tea to steep.
Enjoy

I would use a kettle or hot water heater, but I don't have one in my dorm room.

Wow. My tea is made with love. Not because I bought some soulless Asian built machine!

Sugar in tea? Yuck. Why don't you guys just drink soda. ;p

1/4 teaspoon powdered sencha leaves in a cup and add water. I usually have an electric hot pot with hot water ready, but just use cold water if I don't since the powder dissolves pretty easily.

I yell at the wife for more tea, she goes back to her place, the kitchen, and then brings me a full glass of tea.

Loose leafed tea goes into teapot.
Pour hot water from electric water heater into it teapot.
Let it seep for a few minutes then poor into teacup.
Drink.

If I don't want to drink a lot of tea, I have this which is great for making a cup of tea. Though I usually end up using the teapot more just cause it seems more traditional. :x

I like Indian tea - chai, as it is called here.

60% milk, 40% water. Once it boils, throw in the tea and sugar (2 teaspoons per cup) and stir it around for 2 minutes or until the color looks just right. If you have any cardamom or cloves around, throw them in too. Pour and enjoy.

My dad apparently was taught a very specific way to brew tea when he made it for his dad and his army superiors back in Taiwan and now its become my choice of brewing.

tall ceramic/porcelain glass with a top cover
tea LEAVES (not those crappy thin flakes of concentrated piss)

pour hot water onto tea leaves in glass and cover - this step is to ensure that the leaves aren't COOKED, also promotes the tea flavor to separate in different levels (the bottom being the most concentrated and top is light in flavor). Good tea leaves should convect while its covered.

You can take your first sip after about 2-3 minutes.
Sip slowly and try not to disturb the tea too much.
Enjoy?

boil water and put tea bag in. I wish i had real whole leaf tea, but my new favorite thing is the tea pyramids from lipton. They are very flavorful. Depending on my mood, i will add some spiced honey.

I totally agree, tea leaves are so much better than tea bags. There is almost no bitter taste with good tea leaves, and the bitter taste that is there is slightly refreshing. No wonder so many people use sugar to mask the bitter taste, they use tea bags with the refuse that didn't make it into the tea leave batch.

teabags are crap

I do the same thing. Using porcelain and covering is a very good method, but I find that unles syou are using extremely expensive loose leaf teas, you really can't tell much of a different between a press and porcelain as long as you time the amount of time the tea leaves stoke before pressing the press.

there was a tea store in my town up until this last fall.
I bought a good hundred bucks worth when they were liquidating...

I've also found some great teas at my local asian market.
My wife has bought some good tea online too...i don't remember the site though.

Being from NC, we pretty much add tea to our sugar, hence why we call it sweet tea instead of ice tea. :D

I boil two family sized tea bags for a couple minutes, cover and let steep for about an hour. Then I pour that into a pitcher and add 1 heaping cup of sugar while the tea is still hot enough to melt it. Then I top with cold water. Serve in a Mason jar over lots of ice. And never squeeze out the excess water from the tea bags. That will make your tea bitter. I'm not sure it's possible for tea to be too sweet for me.

Bring water to boil, remove from heat, add tea bag(usually earl grey), steep for 4 minutes, remove and dunk tea bag a few times, then remove tea bag, add 3 tsp sugar, stir, let it cool a few minutes, then drink.
