How do YOU make Gai Lan and Oyster Sauce

I was told to add some oil in the water when you boil gai lan, it will keep the green color when you boil it.
Don't ask me how that works.

A digression, did you know in Hong Kong there's a slang called stiry fry gai lan, it means [accidentally] kick someone in the back of the knee. It's a term primarily for soccer.

Oyster sauce, sugar, rice wine, sesame oil and a little chicken broth. Slightly soft boil quickly then pour over Chinese brocolli...

I stopped making it after I saw a live caterpillar and some maggots crawling around in it. Tried washing them out but I never saw them again. Too afraid to eat it. Never bought it again.

LOL. You don't think bugs crawl around on other vegetables?

wtf is gai lan?

It's a chinese vegetable.

I usually just boil it, and then add oyster sauce and a little bit of seasme oil to it.

Green chinese vegetable, you can usually find them at dim sum with oyster sauce....

But omfg IMHO, it tastes like crap without the sauce.

It's an acquired taste I guess. I used to hate it when I was young. Now I can eat a pound of boiled gai lan myself without any sauce.
