How do you make desktop icon names "float" in Windows 9X?

When choosing a different background color or wallpaper, I thought I saw someone's desktop (sometime ago) that had icon names that integrated well with whatever was chosen. Instead of a block of colored pixels with white text inside, the pixels surrounding the icon names always had the same color as any background color chosen. How do you do this?

Bill - I sent a program to your Juno account that will do what you need.

You mean to make the text boxes transparent?

Then download a program called deskcolor. Do a search in download.com. believe me, it works.

Litestep rocks!

Thanks alot! I always wondered how the transparecy thing was done. I guess Win98SE doesn't support that kind of hack natively...

Yeah. If you?re a newbie, stay away from Litestep. I had too many newbies call me cause they couldn?t get the themes to work. It's a cool shell though.
