In Windows 2000, you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and you can lock the workstation. Can this be done in XP Pro? If so, how?

Yes,

Press (Windows Key) + L

This will bring you to the Welcome screen .. all programs are still active, its just that your system is now locked, as you want.

You can press Ctrl-Alt-Del ( or open the task manager how ever else you want ) and click Shutdown -> Lock Computer
