Have you never heard that not everyone is the same? Some people don't like things that way...it isn't wasting crap if that's how they like them. There is no right answer to this, it's opinion.
My personal opinion is that it should be well done, cooked thru completely, no color, no blood. I think it tastes fine that way. I've had it rarer...all the way down to rare. Anything less than medium well and I nearly puke, and I don't think that medium well tastes as good as well done.
