Glass is my favorite, but it's rare where I live, so my second is a fountain in a paper or styrofoam cup.

2-liter bottle, room temp and flat, poured into a glass.

Yeah, I said it, and I meant it. Please don't kill me at least until next Monday. Or actually, if anyone is planning on it, just let me know. No sense doing homework then.:p

Because aluminum and plastic have taste. A bit of it gets mixed in with the liquid.

Pop in glass tastes better than in plastic, I'll agree. it's been a long time since I've had much of anything except IBC in glass, so I can't really say whether it tastes better than cans.

This is somewhat true. What actually mixes with the drink are special oils that coat the inside of the can in order to protect it from the drink. If these oils were not present, the drink, for example cola, would eat through the aluminum over time. It's the trade off for having a highly recyclable and cheap container.

Glass needs no such protection, so the flavor is closer to the original.
