How do you like your PIII 1.2 Ghz Tualatin?

What are your impressions/experiences?

I see maybe a Dual 1.2 Tualatin setup in the coming months, these chips are cheap right now, once they get down to $75 a pop I may build a Dual 1.2 setup.

Lmk!

Thanks

I got a pair of dual 1.26 servers. They're not bad.. i'm using a pair to run an exchange server with 4gb ram and 105 gb raid array. Its not bad.. but dual xeon are getting cheap too.. might as well.. except dual xeon mobo > 350

1.2GHz PIII's do not support SMP, it is disabled. The more expensive 1.13 and 1.26's do, however at the price premium.

You might be better off going dual 1600XP's, as they are around $50.00 a pop now.

Anyway, I like mine - but it is a 1.2Ghz Tualatin Celeron (256KB L2 cache) - but only after it is overclocked to at least 125FSB (1.5+Ghz) does it begin to really "perform". Its stock 100FSB is a performance crippler.

And I am not certain that any Tualatin Celerons even support SMP - the Tualatin PIIIs (133FSB/512KB L2 cache) do.
