How do you like your macaroni and cheese?

so anyways a big argument broke out today at home over how to make the macaroni and cheese. No-one ever follows the directions on the box (1/4 stick butter, 1/4 cup milk).... so how do you make yours?

Butter and pepper. That is all that is required.

sometimes when i dont have milk, i substitute the amount of milk with butter :shocked::shocked:

Prefer Velveeta. 🙂

Although...My mother in-law makes it every once in a while with a block of "government" cheese... or as close as they can get now since Grandma can't get it anymore. (American is what she uses now).

I don't know what else she adds....but it's goooood.

Ingredients:
Kraft Mac 'n Cheese
5 hot dogs
2 small cans sliced olives (or one of the slightly larger can)
1 cup medium salsa
3 green onions (the long kind, not the round ones), cut into small pieces
1/2 stick butter
1 cup parmessan cheese

Boil noodles with some oil and salt in the water for about 10 minutes. Drain.
Boil hot dogs until cooked. Chop into small pieces.
Add butter, onions, salsa, olives, the cheese packet, the parmessan cheese, and the hot dogs to the noodles.
Stir until well mixed and the butter is melted.

🙂

I like real baked macaroni & cheese, kraft is OK occasionally though when I'm in the mood for junk food.

Do you have a decent recipe for it? I can't find any that don't contain soup, yogurt or other such things that don't belong in mac and cheese.

I don't have measurements, but usually mine consists of:
Penne pasta
Whole milk
Eggs
Velveeta
Cheddar

The mixing the eggs and milk and velveeta makes a cheesy, creamy sort of custard interior and the cheddar goes on top, getting nice and crispy once baked.

I add a good bit of cayenne pepper. 😀
