Why? Personaly I am a zen man but I have never actually used an ipod. What was bad about it?

1. firewire interface
2. expensive addons
3. battery life is nowhere near 8hrs
4. earbuds impressed me but suck sometimes
5. easily scratchable

other than that its cool

My battery get about 8 hrs on my 30gb.. my ipod isnt scratched at all and I've had it for over 6 months.. the earbuds are decent, and the firewire interface is FAST and comes standard on most new motherboards, and creative cards It's a neat device.

the firewire is a plus for me... i like firewire. as for the add-ons.. i bought an ipod to play music.. not to use it as a card reader or voice recorder. IMO, if you're going to do that, ipod isn't for you.

but alas... i sold my ipod.... and got its little brother

same here. I bought my 10GB on e-bay about a year ago, as a graduation present to myself.

since I switched jobs, I've been using it a lot less, though. at my previous job, I had either a 2 hour commute by subway/ferry, or an hour commute by driving. so my iPod replaced my radio. which my new job, though, my commute it only about 15 minutes in each direction.

the only time I ever break it out is when my friends want to yank MP3's from me, and for my monthly 6-hour road trip to PA.
