how do you like your colors?

i mean in general since some photos look significantly better one way compared to the others.

how and why?

really depends.

75% i would say natural.

but i really get a hard on when some pics turned out looking good in muted and b&W instead.

I wouldn't say "very saturated", but photos that have vibrant colors tend to have more "pop" to them. In many instances, "natural" can simply look "muted".

All depends on the subject though.

With film I like Velvia 50 for shots without people and Provia or Velvia 100F for shots with people in them.

I guess that firmly puts me in the "very saturated" camp. 🙂

I definitely warm my colours in the post-process. Not to the extent where there's nearly bloom happening or it looks unreal, though.

I prefer a bit extra saturated, depending on the situation. But nothing extreme.

I also really am a huge fan of B&W imagery. Either standard B&W or duotones.

Depends on what I'm shooting. I still shoot 400 ISO TriX when I feel it's necessary.

If I'm shooting something with a lot of color, then I want it to show that color, and I might bump the saturation +10-15 in post. However, bumping saturation in dull photos tends to make hideous results.

Usually I go for a fairly natural thing. If something has a lot of color, I usually bump up the saturation some. If something is kinda dull, I usually prefer it in black and white and play around with the toning. I (usually) play around with the picture a little bit if it doesn't seem like it's working.

I like colors to be slightly more saturated than normal. But closer to natural, hence I chose that option in the poll. Slightly punchier colors give the photo that little extra presence. Heck, I do stage lighting design, I live for saturated colors.

Mix of normal and slightly saturated. I must admit, I like them mostly normal, but tend to bump up the saturation on anything I plan to share with others, as most people I share with tend to prefer a little extra pop...

I like it to look like how I imagine it would under perfect conditions with no pollution or anything like that (for landscape work). I try not to show what I didn't see. Although on my monitor I over saturate everything because after that it'll come out looking correct on most other monitors.

Good example of how I like my colors:

i think this is the way i lean, as well. sometimes i get a little carried away with saturation, but not nearly as much as a lot of the stuff i see on flickr... which was the whole reason i made this poll 🙂
