How do you like the Playstation move?

When my phat PS3 died, I bought the Slim/Move bundle. I haven't touched it since the novelty of Sports Champions wore off. Turns out I'm just as bad at sports in games as I am IRL. 😛

Killzone 3's move support was kind of neat but it really needs the gun peripheral.

The Move works, and works well. There's just nothing for it. Sony only seems to pay lip service to it.

I loved playing Heavy Rain with it, couldn't imagine playing it without the Move. However, there is very limited support at this point. I heard Resistence 3 is pretty awesome with the gun attachment and the Move, but I haven't tried it. I'm looking forward to Sorcery and DUST 514, both might be fun with the Move.

Here are the games I've played the move with:

The Fight, House of the Dead, Time Crisis Rising Storm, Resident Evil 5, Dead Space Extractions Demo & Killzone 3 demo.

I bought the sharp shooter accessory because it looked awesome. That being said, I found it was NOT enjoyable playing it with Killzone 3 or Dead Space. With Killzone, the sharpshooter was more of a hindrance and got tiring holding it. Plus moving was a bitch. You're better off using a controller.

In Dead Space, it was easier to use it without the sharp shooter, which makes sense since the game was originally for the Wii. Next is Resident Evil 5 Gold. I didn't play it that much so I can't really say. But the 1 time I did play it (just so I can test it with the move), I found the controls awkward and clunky. But I think my main problem was that I needed to re-calibrate it.

On to The Fight. Even though it got bad reviews, the user reviews for it are high and I agree. You will definitely have to put in some time with it as it's part exercise trainer/part fighter-RPG. Also because I'm out of shape, I can't play the game for too long--maybe no more than 1 hour. You have to physically train to build up stats so that you're not weak and slow when fighting tougher opponents. I definitively got a good work out playing it and would find my shirt drenched in sweat with my arms and shoulders aching.

Next is Time Crisis Rising Storm. It comes with Time Crisis 4 and some pirate rail shooter game. The rail shooter parts are all good, though the story mode for Rising Storm felt impossible to play with using the sharp shooter. It felt more like a FPS and would probably play better using a controller.

With House of the Dead, the game is totally awesome. A definite must have if you enjoy rail shooters. It's definitely a good party game and has tons of replay value since you have to get cash to upgrade your guns, buy new guns, etc. Plus there are other things to shoot at to get unlockables.

I'm getting a Move for Christmas so this is a perfect thread.

I figure if it can replace my Wii for those rare times when I have a bunch of people over and we dust it off and play wii sports.

Worthless.

Sports Champions shows what Move is capable of, but nothing else was really made to take advantage of it. A couple shooters here and there, but it was really an afterthought for a game that was designed for analog sticks. IMO you should ignore it just like Sony did.

This thread makes me wish I kept my Xbox 360 just for the kinetc 🙁

Never used it otherwise.

Oh well, I'm getting it for free and if the sports game it comes with is good then that's enough for now. Hopefully they'll put some real effort into it though. I recall reading but maybe I'm remembering it wrong, that the Move was capable of controllerless input as well but Sony didn't implement it as they thought something physical was better.

the move is pretty much not going to be supported at all anymore so you probably wont see any games with effort put into it. it's been on clearance pretty much everywhere for a couple months now, and games are just totally not implementing anything special for it anymore.

And gaming pundit worth their salt saw that coming even before they released the thing. Same goes for the Kinect, which has seen more attention from hackers than game devs. While both are great implementations of motion control, there's now requirement to own them. Not like the Wii which had it from the get go. You just can't release optional peripherals so late in a console's life and hope they'll catch on. It's been tried before, and fails every time.

got 2 move controllers, sports champions, and 2 nunchuk style controls free from my sony credit card. used it for < 1 hour. extremely accurate but got bored with it quick. whenever friends visit, their kids stay entertained with it though.

Yeah, a brief survey of games shows that it's really not so impressive compared to the wii.

The thing is technology wise it works better than the wii IMO. The issue is that Sony didn't push it and very few games bothered with it at all. Sports Champions gave us a pretty good picture of how accurate it was, and we didn't even get a cheap sequel to that. Would it have been so hard to stick on a couple extra games, added an online mode and called it "Sports Champions Online"?

Yeah, I find the technology vastly superior to the Wii; it just seems like Sony thought it up, implemented it, then completely forgot about it. However, just yesterday I saw a Move commercial on TV, so perhaps they're trying to pick it back up?
