How do you let most of your contacts know that you have a new phone number?

Not all contacts in the old phone, just most of them.
Is there a way to spam them?

I was thinking about this the other day.

I might look into getting a Google Voice number, and giving that out to friends, family, customers, etc. instead. That way, if I switch to a new carrier and can't keep my number, I can simply update Google Voice and not worry about a thing. Whether or not it actually IS that simple is what I need to find out...

Oh, just realized that Olds is the OP. Just walk down to your basement and tell them, problem solved.

Facebook, email, or call/text them with who you are and to update your number to what they're seeing now.

i set up groups and send a text message to the group. but ive never had to change my number, thats just in general. some carriers restrict the amount you can send at once, i know verizon limits normal phones to 10 in the "to" list. apparently my phone will allow 10 groups.

Word. if I were to change my number I would use a facebook invite to some event like lots of people do. It seems like the thing to do nowadays. Most of my friends are on FB anyway. Or I mass text, but that seems to piss some ppl off.

At least that way you know who to delete. :)

it is that simple, but you still have the problem of letting everyone know your GV number.

We moved because of my job. Work changed my phone and I got the new area code. My wife still had the old area code. Now she's getting a new phone so we are changing her number.

There's an App available in Appstore and Playstore to take care of automatic replacement of new number to all our phone contacts, by removing the old number in their phonebook. It is 'LetzwApp'

Does it send me a free ipod too?
