I recently purchased a US robotics 2977 over the internet. I am not happy with the connections (bps) that Windows 98se plug n pray driver that is assigned to the modem. Of course there was no software sent with this OEM modem and USR is not much help, because these modems are sold in bulk to mfrs. and you should call them for tech help. Well, I am the mfr. of this Epox AMD761 system!
I have downloaded the so called drivers 2977_100300 from the USr website and have attempted to install them on Win 98se about 27 times under 'modem' in control panel and device mgr..I keep getting messages i.e. this doesn't have any info. about your modem software. Whaaaaat is the proper procedure to accomplish this feat "in laymans terms"???????? Weber
