How do you install a serial mouse?

I have a p200mhz Compaq Armada laptop that has a ps/2 port for a mouse, but ever since I upgraded the ram from 64 to 128, the serial mouse no longer works. If I removed the upgraded 64mb, the mouse works fine again. So now I'm trying out a mitsumi serial mouse (model: ECM-S3101). I'm running winxp on this little puppy but doesn't detect the serial mouse. Is there a special program or driver I need to install? I must admit I never really used computers with serial mouses before

If the mouse is standard enough, it should be recognised as two button serial mouse and require no additional drivers. If the manufacturer provides drivers, then that's bonus.

I think that you're issue is with the additional memory, not the mouse. I suppose it's possible that something is being shorted, or there isn't enough power; you should really get onto Compaq support and snoop around.
