How do you install a serial mouse?

I have a p200mhz Compaq Armada laptop that has a ps/2 port for a mouse, but ever since I upgraded the ram from 64 to 128, the serial mouse no longer works. If I removed the upgraded 64mb, the mouse works fine again. So now I'm trying out a mitsumi serial mouse (model: ECM-S3101). I'm running winxp on this little puppy but doesn't detect the serial mouse. Is there a special program or driver I need to install? I must admit I never really used computers with serial mouses before :)

If the mouse is standard enough, it should be recognised as two button serial mouse and require no additional drivers. If the manufacturer provides drivers, then that's bonus.

I think that you're issue is with the additional memory, not the mouse. I suppose it's possible that something is being shorted, or there isn't enough power; you should really get onto Compaq support and snoop around.
