How do you ID a CPU?

Hi folks,

I'm new here. So first off I'd just like to say hi.

I've been experimenting with bits of old hardware that I've collected from busted systems. I've got a Intel Pentium III CPU on my workbench, but I'm sure how to find out how many MHz it is. If anyone can help me figure this out I'd be grateful.

It should have markings on the chip. For example, something like 550/256k/133, which would be a 550mhz 256k cache, 133mhz FSB chip.
