How do you hook up bare wire case fans?

Preferably, I'd like to attach molex and use them like the rest of my fans, but I don't even knoiw where to get the parts... (not at the rat shack..)

Anyone?

if you have other fans attached to the psu, then i would just splice the bare wires to an existing fan. i've done it before, and it works great.

Only place I've come across that has molex connectors is Fry's Electronics, but no Fry's in NY though. What you can do though, is get either a molex y-splitter or an extension cable, cut off the female end of the yellow and black wires, attach the fan's wires via solder or crimps, and cut off as much of the unused black and red wires you can.

The other option is to build a fanbus, and maybe a baybus too.

I know you said you'd like to use molex, but have you given the fanbus a look?
I've made a couple before, but now I just buy the micro fanbus by pcmods.com (available at a few online stores).
It's really small and affords quick removal with just 2 screws.

I agree. go with the fanbus. It not only makes your case look a lot more neat and help air circulation, but also gives you the option to go one step further and add switches to regulate fan speed. it's pretty easy to do if youve got the time. 😀
