How do you hook up a sound card to a surround sound receiver and maintain digital sound?

Hello all,

I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz in my computer at home. How much work is involved in hooking it up to a surround sound receiver? The receiver has an optical in and a coaxial in for digital input.

Thanks.

Follow these "rocket science" steps:

1) RTFM. (Or call 1-800-HLP-ME-TB)
2) Buy a cable (and/or adapter(s) if needed).
3) Connect both ends.

You can pick up a cable at radio shack to connect it. It will plug into RCA jacks rather than optical or coaxial.

I detect a certain amount of sarcasm.

Doesn't the Santa Cruz produce a digital output? If I use RCA jacks, then I would be losing the digital side.

A digital signal can be sent through an RCA, so all you need to do is adapt the ends or get a cable at radio shack.

Make sure you set the card for digital output, which can be found in the software that came with the card.
