How do you help yourself fall asleep at night?

My fiance has been having a lot of trouble sleeping, and I was hoping for some helpful home remedies that might help put him to sleep at night before resorting to medication (NyQuil, etc.).

Does anyone have any suggestions, or is NyQuil the only way to go?

Do a google search for "sleep hygiene." Also I agree with keeping the temperature down - your body temp drops a few degrees when you sleep and it can't do that if the room is too warm. Also try ear plugs. I recommend Max's Pillow Soft found at any Eckerds or Rite Aid.

If it's before midnight I listen to loveline if it's on. If it's after midnight, then I either watch TV or masturbate.

Every time I click on a Tomato thread I know that the first two words are going to be "My fiance"

LOL, what are you trying to do, turn the person green? It's chloroform. Chlorophyll is the stuff in plants.

My favorites:

3. Dutch Oven
2. Practice punching, kicking, frenching, and flipping out under the covers (it makes you tired, just ask Francine)
1. Spicy Chili 33.5 minutes before bed
1A. Sleep in a pillow fort

I don't usually get to sleep at night, so on the rare occassions I do get to sleep at night I sleep just fine.

don't know if this applies to anyone else but if I take a hot shower before going to bed it relaxes me really quickly. In fact I can't go to bed before taking a shower and as a bonus the bedroom always smells like whatever showergel I washed with.

i'll go out on a limb and say that it should be mandatory for every person to shower before sleeping at night. i've been over a few friends homes and their bedrooms smell like armpits, i don't think people realize that your room will smell like your bed and your bed smells like you the last time you slept in it

Heh, same here, except I listen to music sometimes and basically drift into sleep without noticing it :p
