she's going on and on and on... i used to say, uh-huhs here and there, now i don't even say anything and she keeps on going and going.................................
 
Record a .wav file say "yeah, that's nice, yup... uh huh" and just loop it in winamp, go take a shower, come back in an hour, and then tell her you have to go to work or something.

That's good... or something like... "can I get your home number and give you a call back?"

Seriously though... as soon as I realize it's a telemarketer, I just tell them I'm about to step out the door and can't take the call right now. They usually don't ever call back, surprisingly.

I have a REALLY good reply for this problem.

When somebody goes on and on, it doesn't matter who, telemarketer, a neighbor, a friend, whoever... you just state "hey, it was great talking to you, talk to you later, I am hanging up now" and then hang up even if they keep yapping on and on. Try it, it's like magic and they never take offense. 😀
 
"Hey, I've gotta run for now though, it's been good talking to you, see ya"

or something to that effect 😀
 
Get whoever else is in the house to yell "I NEED TO USE THE PHONE!!!"

and then tell them you'll try and call them back later on, but you got some stuff to do, so you might not be able to.

Getting someone to say that negates all blame to them, not you.

all you gotta do is say you're tired from work/school/your day, then she'll get the hint. probably say.. "aww.. had a hard day? you tired? you want me to let you go?"

If she doesn't get the hint just pretend to fall asleep on her 🙂

Oh and to set this all up... don't call until after 10:00... if you call earlier than that you can't use this as an excuse 😉
 
hold down buttons. blow into the mouthpiece. walk around in front of your wireless router (if you have one on teh same frequency as your phone). make dissonant minor chords, then switch to major (the keypad is in the key of concert F)
 
What my co-worker used to do when he;s on the phone and wants to get out of it...he would yell behind him saying "Yea i'll be right there", goes back to the phone saying "oh i gotta go my supervisor needs me"
