Seriously though... as soon as I realize it's a telemarketer, I just tell them I'm about to step out the door and can't take the call right now. They usually don't ever call back, surprisingly.

I have a REALLY good reply for this problem.

When somebody goes on and on, it doesn't matter who, telemarketer, a neighbor, a friend, whoever... you just state "hey, it was great talking to you, talk to you later, I am hanging up now" and then hang up even if they keep yapping on and on. Try it, it's like magic and they never take offense.

all you gotta do is say you're tired from work/school/your day, then she'll get the hint. probably say.. "aww.. had a hard day? you tired? you want me to let you go?"

Oh and to set this all up... don't call until after 10:00... if you call earlier than that you can't use this as an excuse
