How do you guys stay in upbeat/positive move for things you don't want to do or you feel angry or anything like that?

Do something you enjoy... whether it be reading, going out, getting high, drinking, having sex, studying etc.

What's the point? If I don't want to do something I'm sure as hell not going to pretend i'm happy about it.

If something isn't going right for me I just think, "hey at least I'm not like Helen Keller", and then I feel that my life isn't too bad.

edit: or I think about a monkey washing a cat

Thinking/being positive is a conscious decision. If you're battling depression, you should see your MD.

Peeps think that depressed peeps should just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, when in fact, they have no boot straps.

I'm a pretty optomistic person - in fact, to most people I'm a little tooooo happy :p I just don't let things bother me - I don't have time to be mad at people or things :p

Staying upbeat and positive is a result of realizing that it's useless / unproductive to be negative or apathetic.

Pessamistic/Negative people are often people who think they are failures, for whatever reason. I hate being around them, they are contagious.
Apathetic people bug me, obviously they're mentally/emotionally damaged.
Getting angry is somewhat normal, but how you deal with it is important. (Flaming or Ranting on ATOT is how some of us deal with anger, huh?) Sometimes, i feel i need a punching bag because of 'people' I encounter.. some people are jus wacko!
